Aim

To allow students to develop their rugby league potential in a structured sport specific subject whilst maintaining academic and/or vocational studies.
To enhance opportunities for players by competing in elite competitions.

Course Content

Both the Junior (year 8, 9 & 10) and Senior (year 11 & 12) programmes cover a range of theory and practical components.
Practical sessions utilise the latest coaching methods and aids used in Rugby League.

In the senior course students may choose to also study Physical Recreation. In the Physical Recreation course students have to opportunity to gain the following accreditation:

  • Senior First Aid
  • Life Support
  • General Principles of Sports Coaching

The opportunity exists for students to undertake traineeships in partnership with the Australian Rugby League Foundation.

Expectations
  • Students in the programme are expected to fulfil normal attendance and assessment obligations
  • Make themselves available for selection in school sporting teams (in particular Rugby League)
  • To maintain a high standard of behaviour when involved in all school activities
  • To ensure that they have appropriate equipment for any school activities (eg training gear, hat, books etc)
  • Full payment of all school fees (prior to the beginning of any competitions)
